About The Martin Gallier Project…
The Martin Gallier Project is a suicide prevention, intervention and postvention charity which offers immediate access to non-clinical support to anyone over the age of 16 who is affected by suicide. This includes those who are experiencing a suicidal crisis, people who are experiencing thoughts of suicide, families who are supporting a loved one and also those bereaved by suicide.
The Martin Gallier Project is fiercely dedicated to preventing suicide, breaking down stigmas and supporting families across the North West. The project was set up in memory of Martin Gallier, Jessica Gallier’s father, who took his own life in 2017. This one of a kind project has been put together to tackle the areas that were lacking during Martin’s journey and the missed opportunities to save his life.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a caseload of clients affected by suicide which includes the following duties:
Offering immediate access to non-clinical support to people affected by suicide.
Making first contact with referrals to quickly develop relationships with clients.
Offering urgent response to anyone in suicidal crisis.
Working collaboratively with clients to develop safety plans with the sole aim of creating safety from suicide.
Liaise with professionals within primary and secondary mental health care and other charities.
Keeping accurate records of all client interactions in accordance to organisation policies.
Work closely and compassionately with the families of those affected by suicide.
Attending fundraising and promotional events.
Attending any mandatory training which is relevant to job role and personal development.

Experience supporting people affected by suicide.
A passion for suicide prevention.
Experience of managing a caseload.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Compassion and empathy whilst dealing with sensitive topics.

The Martin Gallier Project is open 7 days a week, 9.30am till 4.30pm. The successful candidate will be working 35 hours per week, 5 days out of 7 and therefore must be flexible to work weekends.
Rate of pay is £11.00 per hour with a view to increase to £12.81 following a successful probation period. This role involves being around the subject of suicide which means that applicants must be comfortable talking about suicide and supporting people who are affected by suicide. The successful candidate will be given a funded space on ASIST Training (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training).
